Publishing point stops when multicast streaming ends

Post by Spin » Sun, 26 Nov 2006 03:27:37

Gurus,

I am pointing my WMS at an .asf file on an origin server which essentially
make my WMS a distribution server. Multicast clients connect to my server
and play the streaming content successfully off of my server. However, when
no multicast clients are connected and the original length of the .asf file
is played out to the end by my WMS distribution box, the publishing point
stops. How can I keep this publishing point up and running?

You need to create a server-side playlist that loops indefinitely. That means
you'll need at least one source that's always available (a local wmv file, for
example.)

Is there a "how to" on how to do this somewhere?
