Using Window Media Server 2003 as a Buffer

Using Window Media Server 2003 as a Buffer

Based on the documentation, the WMS 2003 can be used to cache and archive
incoming streams. The project at hand requires a number of streams being
multicast from streaming encoders to be buffered before being sent off to
another video storage medium.

Is there any available information on the maximum number of incoming streams
of a given bitrate and some sort of hardware specs?

What would be the best way to approach this? The "WMS Archive Data Writer"
plug-in is being considered, but is there a better place to look?

Here are the specs being evaluated:

Incoming stream count: 60
Stream bitrate: 3500kps
Stream context: Multicast MPEG-1

Thank you for your help, and, congratulations Digital Media Team.
