Yes you can. It's what PowerPoint is designed for. Have you tried it? Are you
having problems?

Hello Sonja,

Yes I did try and was unsuccessful. I'm using P.P. 2000 with a projector
to view on a large screen. My program doesn't allow me to do that once I
begin a slide show presentation. I can view the sequential, previous and
following slide in the presentation but, if I want to go from slide #5 to
slide #12, I have to either, mouse click, or use up down Menu keys several
times in sequence to advance or return to previous slide in the presentation.
Even though I can click on #5 slide and #12 slide, it will show the different
slides chosen but, only on my notebook screen, and not on the projector
screen. The slides only view in sequence on projector screen. I have Win XP
Display Settings set for; Extend my Desktop onto this Monitor. I hope this
allows you to better understand my dilemma. Thank You.

As long as the "focus" is on the projector, you can type the slide number and
press Enter.

While in Slide Show mode, press F1 and you will see a list of all the things you
can do.

PowerShow is an add-in for PowerPoint. See the link that Chirag provided.

Thank you, I'll try that . Our purpose is to show stanzas and chorus from a
variety of songs on projector screen. Up until now, we've not been able to go
far back to a slide or far ahead to a slide out of sequence from the
immediate slide being shown, without first going through the order of song
sequence in the presentation.
Are Add ins something you download from the Internet?
Thanks again. Ed
