need to do mail merge using docs stored on netowrk drive

Can we do mail merge with docs on the network drive. Have tried with earlier
word 2000 version but it requires a exclusive access to the documents which
prevents the other users from doing the mail merge unless the first one
releases the doc completely.

Will word allow to have multiple people run the mail merge using the network
drive?

Oops! Make the mail merge "doc" a template instead. This way, each person
creates a new document from it, and multiple users of the same template
should not impede...
