Filename of picture displays instead of picture when copying/p

It does it in Word & Power Point. In Word, if I do the Alt+F9, it changes
from the filename to {Embed Package}

Hi Leea,

If you're seeing a 'package' you're likely adding
more to the documents than just 'a picture'.

You may want to try using Edit=>Paste Special
and choose a picture format.

Nope -- they are standard .jpg pictures from a digital camera -- the same
pictures copy & paste just fine on every other computer in the lab. Also ...
paste special doesn't give me any picture format options at all -- just paste
as "HTML Document object".

Any other ideas?? Thank you.

Hi Leea,

If the only option you're seeing is an 'object' then
it is a package not just a graphic that Word is
'seeing' on the clipboard. An object may include the
ability to call up another application for the graphic
or to maintain an external link.

You may want to try running Detect & repair from the
help menu in Word to see if that helps. It can also
be an issue with the driver/software version from the
camera.

If you save the same picture to disk can you use
Insert=>Picture=>From file in Word and get it as
a JPEG?

Thank you -- I had tried the detect & repair with no success. I actually
found the answer a few minutes ago with a similar posting here re: Access.
It turns out I was missing Microsoft Photo Editor on that one machine. I
installed it from the O2K disk and now copy/paste works just fine.

Thanks again!
