I've managed to fix a very *** bug noone has pointed out and fixed before.
Now, services.exe only consumes about 1.5% of CPU time, as opposed to the
freshly hard reset case (5.3%) and the case of any installed game (when the
CPU usage of services.exe can have a constant CPU usage of 20-30%, depending
on the number of the games installed).
Also, I've modified to be iPAQ-compatible and recompiled an originally
Axim-only tool that helps throttling filesys.exe. Now, the problems of the
latter are largely gone.
Everything is running flawlessly - games run really smooth (as opposed to
the case before applying my hacks) without stuttering. Now, using WM5 on the
hx isn't much different from running it from, say, the x51v, which I also
I'll publish the entire story and tell you everything tomorrow when I have
finished testing and documenting everything.
All in all: there is hope :)
