Codewarrior for Mac OS X not available at Metrowerks?

Post by Rail Jon R » Wed, 11 May 2005 10:25:29

There are no links to the software on the Metrowerks web site..???

I have an older Mac OS version and was contemplating upgrading to the newest
version to see if PowerPlant works well under OS X now.. but there are no
product details at the web site.

The Macintosh link goes to:

Basically, I have a vast knowledge of C++ and have programmed for years for
Windows (using Win32 and MFC) and would like to port some apps to OS X..
should I learn Objective-C.. or use PowerPlant (which I used slightly under
Mac OS)?

Thanks.

Codewarrior for Mac OS X not available at Metrowerks?

In article <d4Ufe.233$ XXXX@XXXXX.COM >,

I believe they are updating the product to remove all Windows stuff, and
will have it back on sale shortly. Pretty lame that this is not clear
from their page though.

Pretty lame, I agree.

Ron told me they're waiting on some sort of legal review, though for
exactly what I don't know.

Codewarrior for Mac OS X not available at Metrowerks?

I received this from Metrowerks in response to an email:
---------------------------------------------------------

Recently Metrowerks sold some of its x86 and Java technology to a 3rd
party along with our Symbian technology. As a result we have had to
temporarily pull our CodeWarrior for Mac product since it had the x86
cross compilers. We have re-mastered the CD and are in the process of
validating it now but this is a slow process because of the code. I
have hopes that it will be available soon barring unforeseen problems
but if it isn't on the site by next Tuesday, please contact me as I
should have some better information as to why it isn't available.

By the way we have updated CodeWarrior since we temporarily removed the
product and are planning future releases. We just were getting out of
the x86 market.

-------------------------------------------------------

Tuesday came and went.. I imagine they're making 100% sure the code is x86
free.
