Missing "Small Business Server Administrator and Personal Console"

Post by cmFuZHljaG » Sun, 14 Dec 2003 06:51:13

I installed Small Business Server 2000, but I am missing the two administrator consoles that should be present. Am I installing the Windows SBS 2000 improperly? I don't see these icons or mmc's anywhere in the system. Thanks.

Sounds like you have just installed the Windows Server portion and not
continued on to install the Small Business Server itself.

I juts finished installing Windows SBS 2000 the second time over, and I am still missing the "Small Business Server Administrator and Personal Console". Is there anyway to download and install it. It seems strange as these consoles are common to all versions of SBS2000. I can not find it in mmc as well.

Put the CD #2 in the drive and continue the SBS integrated setup.

When you were installing sbs did you get to a point where you selected
components to install.
This is portion is in windows not dos mode.

Exchange server
Sql server
Isa server
Domain setup and settings.

If not you haven't yet finished the complete setup.
Leave the cd in the tray when you log into windows and let it do it's thing.

Also note that if CD#1 does not "autorun", then you can go into My Computer
and simply double click on the icon for your cdrom drive. This should
autorun the CDROM for you and allow you to continue the setup of SBS 2000.
