small busines server 2003 migration to a new server installed with small business server 2003

Currently we have a SBS 2003 running AD and exchange for about 15
users. The current server shuts down a lot and is very slow because of
the hardware limits. We bought a new dell server with better hardware
limits and would like to drop the existing server that is flaky and
make the new dell server run in its place with out losing any data on
the flaky server. I have been researching this for a few days and have
found the sbs migration tool that you have to purchase. We are a non
profit organization for cancer awareness for children and don't have
the kind of money this site wants to charge. It took us a long time to
gather the money for the new server and we are hoping there is an
easier way than SBSmigration.com please help us. We do not want to
test too many things out in fear of messing the existing server up more
than it is. Thank you in advance for your time on this matter.

Brian
I understand the situation, but unfortunately there is a cost of doing
business and they did manage to come up with the money for a new Dell
Server.
Any other method of migrating data is going to result in down time,
potentially lots of it. And you will run the risk of losing access to the
other data.

The version of SBS you are running now...did it come pre-installed on the
server?

You could try following KB=884453, it should work. Please take a
complete backup of the old server and then begin with this.
