SSIS Package failing as a job, but getting successful when run as package

by Sudhi » Wed, 04 Nov 2009 05:13:50

when i run the job using network service account credentials job is failing. But when i run the package individually, it is tasting success. when it runs as job, this is the error message i am getting

SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER. The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "Excel Connection Manager" failed with error code 0xC0202009. There may be error messages posted before this with more information on why the AcquireConnection method call failed.

I have changed to 32-Bit run time and ran the excel package, even then it is failing...i tried to use my credentials (i am admin on the box), even then it is failing...please suggest

As indicated in the error message I would expect some additional error messages that describe the problem. Turn logging on if you have not already, and use the Command Execute job, CdExec step type, so that you can set the step log file.

Saying all that I expect the error is file permissions. Where is the Excel file located Does the network service have access to the file Does it have acces to the share if in a share Are you usig a UNC Path (\\Server\Share\Folder\File.xls) rather than a mapped drive
