For banquer this is very, very advanced (and confusing) stuff;
very exciting (as it goes wrong for him so often).
It might even be his Holy Grail: "2 1/2 axes" .... (per his
count),

See "CAD/CAM Secrets Revealed".

Dude....what is with the obsession with drilling holes about? You are
the only person that seems to have difficulty with it.....

It boggles the mind.
If only he had one to borrow.

2 1/2 axes (per him) is just sooooo confusing ....
He's never posted anything at all about 3 axes or 5 (or more) axes IIRC.
Or even decent 2 axes simple lathe stuff.
His mind stopped long ago .. must have been a *** ad or canned demo ...

==================================================

It's Freudian -- Jon "Empty Barrels Can Indeed Be Deafening" Banquer has the
same problems with his *** that he has with drill bits.

And non-Freudianly, along the lines of accuracy:
If Jon Banquer whizzed in a toilet 6 feet in diameter, he'd still
wind up hitting the seat.

If Jon Banquer SAT DOWN to pee, he'd still find a way to soak the floor....

If Jon Banquer.... oh, let me save some for later....

I don't think your little pal has bothered to gnaw through the
restraints lately.
Maybe they increased the medication, or he can't find a homeless
person to help him forge posts.
Maybe he is keeping his head ducked low because of pressure of losing
his job, or the *** if he did.
Whatever the reason, it is so much nicer like this!

He's terrified to post as himself these days. Perhaps he's afraid his
employer will come across his wild rants about *** and *** , or
maybe some of his other aliases like " *** Jon", or "Mr X".

You mean, Jon Banquer, Exemplary Employee of Qualcomm, is afraid that his
esteemed employer, Qualcomm, will find out that Jon Banquer is a deranged
fraud?

That Qualcomm will find out that Jon Banquer not only lied on his job
application, but spun whole a fictional novel-ette, worthy of JK Rowling
(Harry Potter)?

That Qualcomm will find out that Jon Banquer is pilfering their tool crib?

That Qualcomm will find out that Jon Banquer spends most of his day not even
sweeping or cleaning up, but ranting on his glob and on AMC??

That hell will freeze over before Jon Banquer ever learns how to use cadcam,
because that same hell will freeze over before he learns how to use an
effing spreadsheet, or to manually contour?

THAT Jon Banquer???

****start my damn reply from my broken newsreader here****

How about circle milling? There's not enough talk about circle milling,
helix milling, etc...
With all the hardcutting going on helix circle milling with cutter comp and
cuts that start in the center of the hole is a big deal, most cam systems
have no trouble doing it with ease, but nobody friggen knows how on the user
end lately.
Quite unlike "drilling holes".

Here ya go ....
Suppose 1.000" dia hole with .500" dia cutter ....
Use 0 in cutter comp .... do hole at .500" .....
Then just adjust cutter comp in stages til you get the
final 1.000" dia hole, right?
Let's ask jb for his sample code in a macro ...
Will he use G81 in loops? How will he adjust cutter comp
inside the macro to go from 0 to .....?
