I hope this is the right place to ask (if not, can someone point me to
somewhere better).

Basicly, I have an application that uses an unknown 32 bit checksum
algorithim on some data.
I have a very large sample set of matched "input data" and "32-bit
checksum", is there some way to figure out the algorithim used from that data?

First, you should try out the most common 32 bit CRCs (see e.g.
http://www.yqcomputer.com/ ).

If this doesn't work, there are mathematical approaches to find the
polynom.
