Strange email messages...

Those come from email gateway subscribers that have set up a "while I'm out"
message without the sensitivity to shutdown their subscription or filter the
list out of the auto-responder.

Strange email messages...

Post by Five Cat » Fri, 25 Jun 2004 05:28:33

Every time I post here, I get a number of strange email messages to the
reply-to address from people telling me they are out...

WHY?

I really don't care that people I have never heard of and wouldn't know
from Adam are out of the office. Why on earth are they doing it?

Come to that - whilst in rant mode - when are the dozy dopes that are
posting HTML going to manage to switch to plain text?

Oh - I feel so much better now!

Glad that someone started this. Perfect scratch for my itch.

This *&%%$ garbage comes even when you don't subscribe to gateway (like I do)
and use outlook express to post in c.d.i. For every post I get few "out of office"
in my mail box. I can easily use a fake email address, but then I can't get mails
from folks like you, Madison or Jonathan. I value these mails more than the garbage.

Art is right. These people are f****g insensitive. Nah. They are f****g idiots IMO.

I have given up on asking IIUG to upgrade their mailing list software.

Regarding HTML (MIME) - I cannot switch to plain text - my SPAM filter does the conversion to HTML after I've hit the send button. I have no control over that.

No, the filter is permanently enabled on top of my mail application. It scans incoming, but on outgoing it adds a signature at the bottom of my mails - probably as an advert for the software. And then it converts my mail into HTML. I do not control that.
