is it possible to call a pl/sql stored procedure from a java stored
procedure? (oracle 9.2.0.2.0)?

any direction/experience/war stories on this would be appreciated:

flame prevention:

[_] yes, i am researching this
[_] i have not done java stored procedures, but i am managing a project
where a programmer (that knows java but not pl/sql) wants to integrate some
java code into an existing process
[_] yes, i am willing to read the manual if you provide a reference
[_] no, i'm not selling anything ;-)

For high level I suggest a quick gander at

Oracle Universal Installer Concepts Guide
Release 2.2
Part Number A96697-01

Sections that might be relevant:

Chapter 1: Understanding the Oracle Programmatic Environments

Overview of Java Stored Procedures, JDBC, and SQLJ
Overview of Writing Procedures and Functions in Java
Overview of Oracle JDBC

Chapter 9: Using Procedures and Packages

After that, consider

Oracle9i Java Stored Procedures Developer's Guide
Release 2 (9.2)
Part Number A96659-01
