Problems with transparent protocol.

Problems with transparent protocol.

Post by abaie » Fri, 02 Apr 2004 18:58:52

I use the following settings:

1: B1 protocol = 64 kbits/s bit-transparent with byte framing
1: B2 protocol = Transparent
0: B3 protocol = Transparent

I am receiving permanent DATA_B3_INDs including raw datas not send
from the other part.
1. is this the default behaviour of transparent?
2. do i need to send a header to decide if this data is sent from the
other part?

many thanks!

Bittransparent data is raw data coming from the isdn-network with
8khz rate. And believe me there is always data on the isdn-network ;-)

So in this mode of operation which is normally only used for voice,
fax and modem, you can't see if the data coming was sent from
the other side.

If you want to do data-tranmission, then you should use at least
HDLC-framing on layer 1. This makes sure, you only get data
if the other side sent you something.
