anyone from sacramento, california with comcast cable modem service.
how does it perform overall? what about for online *** [i.e. are
the pings usually low and what about lag, ...]? are there any times
that it slows down quite a bit?

From here, it doesn't look like you've had any replies, so here's my 2
cents worth.

I don't live in the Sacramento area, but my dad lives in Orangevale, which
is about 10 miles out. His connection is fast and reliable, and pings
times are low 24 hours a day. He doesn't do any online *** , though, so
I can't comment on this. His location is sccrmhc12
