Stacking BS 460s with BPS 2000 / BS 450

Stacking BS 460s with BPS 2000 / BS 450

Post by Jeff Gree » Wed, 09 Jul 2003 01:59:56

Hi everyone,

I'm interested in the new BS 460-24T-PWR switches as
we're thinking of
deploying a VoIP telephone system and our current environment is
BPS2000/BPS450.

Does anyone know the situation regarding stacking/mixing these units
- Nortel brochures have the <tombstone symbol> "Future software release"
in the relevent section ?

Many Thanks,

remarks inline..

You will find the following "term":

?Mixed stacking (stacking one or more of the BPS 2000, BayStack
470-24T, or the BayStack 460-24T, with the BayStack 450, but NO
BayStack 470-48T).

in the release notes for BoSS 3.0 (name of the sw for BPS/460/470)
http://www.yqcomputer.com/
You need to follow some rules, also covered in the same doc.
(like, the BS450 need to be running software version 4.2.0.22, and there
is some requirements about the sequence in the stack).

In article < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >, XXXX@XXXXX.COM
says...
The current software does support stacking with the BS450 and/or BPS2000
switches (as well as the BS470). The current version is 3.0. Older
versions did NOT support inter-species stacking...
