distributed.net's OGR-24 project was completed yesterday. After 4 years of
testing every possible 24-mark ruler (555,529,785,505,835,800 of them)
--twice--it verified that the best known 24-mark ruler,
24/9-24-4-1-59-25-7-11-2-10-39-14-3-44-26-8-40-6-21-15-16-19-22, is optimal.
OGRp2 for OGR-25 is 10-15% complete as of yesterday, and OGR-25 is overall
about 65% complete.

distributed.net is aware of a Trojan horse named "Sims2 Crack.exe" which
secretly deploys dnetc on Win32 machines. Also, various pre-release project
clients, including one for NetWare, are available for testing as of October
20. The latest NetWare pre-release client, v2.9009.494c, is available as
of yesterday.

Search for Multifactorial Primes found prime 162986!25 + 1 (31,152 digits)
on October 31. Also, it finished !25 to 180,000 on October 31, and !18 to
180,000 on October 26.

found a P36 factor of M(11880), "the second known factor for the primitive
part of this number," on October 19

- ( http://www.yqcomputer.com/ #nfsnet ) NFSNET
completed sieving 5^304 + 1 and began sieving 2^716 + 1 yesterday. It
completed the factorization of 6^257 + 1 on October 14, and completed the
factorization of 7^233 + 1 on October 5.

Find-a-Drug released beta version 1.25d of its client for testing on October
22. It released beta version 1.25e on October 28. This version had
serious problems for Windows users, and testers were asked to revert to
1.25d. Version 1.25f for Windows and Linux should be available for testing
tomorrow.
