The following updates are from the Internet-based Distributed Computing
Projects website ( http://www.yqcomputer.com/ ). These updates
cover public distributed computing projects (projects in which anyone can
participate).

September 2, 2004

- new active science project:

based on the BOINC platform, allows users to help design the
( http://www.yqcomputer.com/ ) Large Hadron
Collider. Note that the project only has a Windows client for now and is
limited to 1000 participants for now (and the first 1000 participants signed
up within 24 hours).

- new active charity:

PovertyFighters gives poor families "microloans" to start their own
businesses and work their way out of poverty

- ( http://www.yqcomputer.com/ #dfolding )
Distributed Folding achieved a best RMSD of 0.60 on its final CASP6 target,
T0277. It released its next regular protein target on August 31.

Search found prime 3*2^1232255 - 1 (370,947 digits) on August 30

first year.
