Digital to Analog converter DAC

Digital to Analog converter DAC

Post by Dieg » Thu, 23 Jun 2005 01:33:07

Hi,

I'm working with a DSP, but I need a DAC with this characteristics:

-16 bits resolution
-sample frecuency = between 100 Khz and 250KHz, because I'm working
with a signal between DC and 50KHz.
Optional: an interface SSI to communicate with a DSP, but is absolutely
necessary 16 pins to pass the data in a parallel way.

Do you know a DAC with this features.
Thak you

There are lots of them. I'd start with TI (they have the old Burr-Brown
stuff), Analog Devices, Linear Technologies and Maxim. Maxim makes good
parts, but they have strange and often frustrating stocking and ordering
policies -- I would only use them for jelly-bean parts or if I
absolutely positively needed something that only they had. I wouldn't
stop there -- DAC's are a popular part, most everyone makes them and
16-bit, 100ksps parallel load DAC's are not oddball in any way shape or
form.

Thank you Tim.

Maybe you cold send me some DAC's numbers and the company that biult
it, the features and the posible problems, I need to do a FFT.

Than you again.

Diego:

That's work, and I'll do it for my regular rate. Contact me (my contact
info's on my website) and we can work out the details of what
requirements you need to fill and how much I'll get paid.

Otherwise, look on the websites of the manufacturers that I mentioned,
and look for manufacturer's that I didn't mention so you can look on
their websites, too. Map your requirements into their specifications
and see which one is the best for you.

The fact that you're doing an FFT is totally immaterial to your DAC
choice, as FFT's are done in processors and DAC's turn digital data into
analog voltages.

Diego, Carlos:

May I ask where are you from? If you want, please reply to my email address,
not to the group.

Hi. I'm from Ecuador. Why you question it?
Diego.
