ODBC/DSN system DSNs Missing

Post by news.micro » Sun, 05 Sep 2004 00:43:32

I'm having a problem with several of my machines where I enter a DSN under
the System DSN. The information is in the registry, however, it does not show
in the DSN list. Any ideas. Is this a known issue ?

1. Connecting to SQL Server thru ODBC System DSN vs ODBC File DSN

2. Invalid or missing ODBC and System DSN

I am trying to get another user setup on a windows XP pro pc and cannot get
an existing System DSN to work for the new user. Only one user on the pc can
get at it, to modify it remove it etc. All other users are not able to even
remove it, because it says that it is an invalid or missing DSN. Is this a
driver issue that maybe the second user does not have access to? Or is this a
permissions issue, because both users are administrators of the pc? Any help
would be appreciated, thanks.
