How to truncate long lines in graphical terminal

Post by minseoko » Sat, 12 Jan 2008 07:07:20

Hi, all

I wonder what to put in .emacs in order to carry a long line into a
new line when it's longer than window size in graphic terminals. I
tried "(setq truncate-lines nill)", but it seems to work in text
terminals. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I am sorry I put a wrong value. It works fine when I use a single
window in a frame, but not multiple windows in a frame. Any
suggestion?

Thanks,

In article
< XXXX@XXXXX.COM >,

Are you splitting the frame horizontally? Then see the variable
truncate-partial-width-windows.

Yes, I split windos horizontally by using C-x 3. Your suggestion does
not solve the problem! Thanks, anyway.

Yes, I am using windows horizontally, and sometimes vertically within
a splitted window. I tries as you suggested. But it didn't help.
Sorry. I don't know why. Thanks,
