Our Application is using XMLA to
get the data from the OLAP cubes. Whenever the MS OLAP Administrator
changes the rights of the users accessing the application and the users

were already using the application, IIS 5.0 needs to be restarted to
impose the new rights of the user.

Is it neccesory to restart the IIS 5.0 every time the rights of the
user were changed on OLAP server?

That is the simplest way -- or you can just unload the application pool of
the XMLA SDK virtual directory so that other IIS applications are not

The alternate solution is to script something that will clear out the
connection pool in the XMLA application pool and then allow them again. Its
a pretty complex solution, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you must have
