playing animation with fcheck Maya 5.0 linux

I've created an image sequence but fcheck doesn't seem to want to play
it. I'm using Maya 5.0 under Linux. the image sequence is 24 frames of
the form: image.iff.001 to image.iff.024

In the terminal I enter:

fcheck -n 1 24 1 image.iff.001

and I get the error "animation image.iff.001 not found". Is there some
other way I have to save the animation in in order to view it with
fcheck as an animation? I've tried saving it in other image formats and
with different placement of the numbering but I still get that same
error. Also, I've tried "Show Batch Render" from the Render menu and
fcheck just opens one random image in the animation and I cannot even
scroll through the rest of them. Thanks.

"fcheck -n 1 24 1 blue.@.iff"

is the format for IRIX. Perhaps Linux would be the same? Or perhaps you can
try "fcheck -n 1 24 1 blue.iff.@" first.

Have you tried, 'fcheck -n 1 12 1 ./image.iff.001'

If that works, your path is not set up correctly in your unix user account.
Also, type 'ls -l image.iif.*' and verify that it is set readable by
you. (Or just type 'chmod 622 image.iff.*' to force it to the right perms)

The path and permissions are correct. I can type 'fcheck image.iff.001'
and an fcheck window will pop-up with the appropriate image displayed
like it's supposed to; fcheck "works" but just will not play animations.

try this,

it will remane you file to a more 'standard' naming convetion
(base_name.seq_num.extention):

###
tcsh
foreach f (`ls image.iff.*`)
mv ${f} ${f:r:r}.0${f:e}.${f:r:e}
end
fcheck -n 1 12 1 image.#.iff
###

Cheers,

Seb

Thanks for the script. But I've already every naming convention that
Maya will save as (including the one you illustrated below) and it still
gives me the same error.
