Hi!

I've just tried to combine polygons in cinema,
but it seems, that there is no function available?!
It really should be possible to do so ...?

If there's a function to split, there must be a
function to combine ... but I didn't find it.

Could anyone help, please?

Hi Bastian

I'm only a newbie but I think you group the objects then use the connect
command. This creates a new object with combined points.

thanks, first of all, but let me explain it a little more detailed:

I got 1 object with lots of polygons and I want to combine
some of those into 1 polygon, but still on the same object,
just to save rendering time. The connect function will only
work, if there's more than 1 object and will combine those
objects.

Any further ideas?

Another idea is to copy points in the structure manager. Change objects
then from the structure manager, paste the copied points. Then use the
bridge tool to make the new polygons.

If that doesn't work, I'd check out the Renderosity C4D forum as that's a
lot busier than this one.

Change to point mode, select multiple points and 'wield' them
together, be warned that if you are working with quads that this will
create triangles in your mesh.

complicated, isn't it? I wonder what's wrong
with a polygon-combine-function ... hmm ... :-)
