Hi,
I try to build the last version (3.8j) under MacOSX 10.3. After
./configure, the make command stop on this error :

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I../term -I../term
-DBINDIR=\"/usr/local/bin\"
-DX11_DRIVER_DIR=\"/usr/local/libexec/gnuplot/3.8j\"

-I/usr/X11R6/include -g -O2 -ObjC -c `test -f term.c || echo
'./'`term.c

You're unfortunately reporting this to the wrong place. Problems with
building the development snapshots are supposed to be reported to the
development mailing list, or the Patch Tracker page at SourceForge.net.

This particular problem has already been reported at the latter place, and
a fix is being worked on.

[...]

It seems that both Apple and Gnuplot use a global variable called
"S_OUTPUT".

In the buglist at
< http://www.yqcomputer.com/ ; is a quick
work around:

<snip>
*change S_OUTPUT to S_OUTPUT_TYPE in
- tables.h
- tables.c
- set.c
- show.c
- unset.c
*added "#import <Foundation/NSArray.h> to
aquaterm.trm
*TBOOLEAN changed to short in syscfg.h
someone was testing for three states on a bool...
<snap>

BTW: Has someone got plplot to compile under MacOS X Panther (10.3)?

Ingo.

By fink is gnuplot is stable for 10.3.
Install fink and make fink selfupdate and sudo fink install gnuplot.
