missing configure in CVS project

missing configure in CVS project

Post by H. Duennbi » Wed, 19 Oct 2005 03:59:07

I've downloaded gnuplot version by CVS and wanted to build the sources
under Linux (Debian Sarge). In the install.gnu there is described that I
must invoke "./configure" at first (linux usually).
In the main directory is no "configure" file. But in the 4.0 release is
a "configure" file.
Is that normal, or must I copy the release configure file to the CVS

Thank you.

If you click on the link "Minimal instructions for building from CVS
source" ( http://www.yqcomputer.com/ ) on the gnuplot
home page, you will see minimal instructions for building gnuplot from
the CVS source. Follow them. IYou will note the extra ./prepare step to
build to configure script.
