Opening PageMaker file with something other than Pagemaker

I've got a situation where I need to get some label artwork that I've
designed in PM7 to a printer that doesn't have any version of PageMaker.
I wouldn't necessarily expect them to as they print packaging materials.

I'm wondering if there is any other Adobe product will open a PM file? I
know the printer has Illustrator. Will that work? Am I better off
sending this to a PDF instead?

TIA!

Absolutely send a PDF. But check your print options (color, paper size,
etc.) and your Distiller settings to ensure you are sending a PDF of the
appropriate resolution, color space, etc., for the printer's needs.

Technically you can open PageMaker files in InDesign, but they pretty
much always need quite a bit of tweaking to get back to being the same
layout, so PDF is the way to go. Another option if it's only a page or
two is to print to EPS, but that's basically the same thing from the
print companies point of view (and creating the EPS means you're
half-way to the PDF anyway).
