reading pm6.5 from pc to mac

i am trying to open a pc pm document on my mac. my mac does not
recognize the file. the file shows up on the desktopas a grayed out
rectangle with exec in the upper left hand corner. it does open from
this cd on a pc.

i saw this icon once before. i had some data on an external hard drive.
some of the files became, i guess, corrupted, and this is the icon that
showed up.

this cd does work on a pc. could the file be corrupted on a mac only?

how can i work on my mac on a file created by a pc. both computers are
running pm6.5.

thank you

Add a .p65 extension to the file and/or open the file from Pagemaker.

If it was created on Windows it already has the extension.

He said it has a .exe extension. It's possible that the originator did
his a "favor" by doing a Save for Service Provider, then zipping the
folder into a self-extracting archive (an option in WinZip, for
example). This would be less than helpful, I presume, on a Mac. But it
would account for the extension.

The easiest solution would be to have the person resend the zip file
without the self-extraction feature. If that person is either
unavailable or clueless, the OP could send me the file and I could
extract it and rezip it. In fact, I think WinRAR will produce a StuffIt
file, although I haven't tried that option yet.
