CD-AUDIO from a USB CD-ROM not working

Post by bmV3YmllX2 » Sun, 16 Mar 2008 00:50:00

Hi,

I'm using mciSendCommand to open, play, and stop cd audio from a cd-rom.
Everything is working fine when I'm using a cd-rom that is directly connected
through sata cables on both vista and xp. But when I connect the cdrom using
a usb case I have problem in playing music cdaudio on Xp systems but I can
still listen to music on Vista systems.

Can anybody suggest what could be the problem ? Also if have a solution or
things to try it would be great.

Thanks,

Regards,
Suresh.

I found the problem was that I needed to enable digital CD audio for this
CD-ROM device property from the sound and audio devices control panel .

Can anybody tell me how do I set this property during runtime. I cant ask my
customer to enable it and disable it whenever I run my program.

Thank you in advance.
Regards,

-Suresh.
