Is it documented anywhere what the difference is between the
bezier_spline, b_spline, and cubic_spline options for various objects
in POV-Ray? I haven't been able to find anything in the docs about
how the various splines are computed.
I know what a bezier spline is, and I know what a b-spline is (in
general terms), and I know roughly what a cubic spline is. But a
cubic spline may be a bezier spline, and a bezier spline may be a
cubic spline, and a b-spline has various forms depending on the
chosen knot vector.
Also, does anyone know why you can use some of these things in
certain contexts in POV-Ray and not in others? For example, a lathe
object can take a bezier spline. A spheresweep object can't, but it
can take a b-spline. And so on.
