POV-Ray: How to make a "bumpy" lens for a light source?

Hi. I'm looking for suggestions about how to make a
"bumpy" lens for a light source (in POV-Ray), like the
green light in this picture:

Any ideas?

This may sound like stating the obvious, but have you tried a translucent
bumpy sphere with a light source inside it.

I think the light bouncing off the back inside surface will give you the
effect you seek if you use a specular finish. e.g.

sphere {
0.0, 1 scale <1,1,0.8>
texture {
pigment { color rgbt <0,0.3,0.2,0.5> }
normal {
bumps 2
bump_size 1
scale 0.08
}
finish{
specular 0.6
}
}
}

light_source {
<0, 0, 0>
color rgb <1.5, 7, 2>
}

Well, that certainly looks better than my complicated attempt with a
proper lens and a chromed reflector :-)

Thanks.
