DVD Player won't play my DVDs

Post by Derek Holl » Fri, 12 Sep 2003 22:45:40

I just recently updated my DirectX Software to Version
9.0b. Ever since, I haven't been able to play my Dvd's
because it says that I need a DVD decoder. I have a DVD
player, there should already be a decoder in it. I need
to know is there a way I can fix this problem before I
have to go and buy software. My DVD player is a Pioneer
DVD-117R.

Is this a programming question?

A better newsgroup for end-user questions is microsoft.public.directx.video.

You have omitted several pertinent pieces of information: Windows version,
which DVD player you have, have you contacted the DVD player manufacturer's
technical support?

By DVD player, I mean the software (example: InterVideo PowerDVD). The DVD
unit in a computer is commonly known as a DVD drive, but I noticed you
called it a "DVD player".
