Problem with converting data CW 4 to CW 5.5

Post by Aad Mes » Thu, 30 Oct 2003 06:27:39

Hi,

I have a problem converting an app with is made in version Clarion Pro 4 to
CW 5.5.
All fields (names) with a " underscore" in it are converted badly.

e.g In my datadictionairy the fields "Name" and field "Name_P" exist.

After converting using the standaard Datadictionairy converter the fieldname
" Name_P" is changed to "Name" and hold the same contense!!

Thanks if you can help me!

Aad,

C55 (H I believe) has a _problem_ with the underscore character in vaiable
names. One solution would be to remove all of the "_" characters from your
old dictionary before converting.

200 variables with "_" in my dictionairy!

Aad,

the application uses the field idents in the dictionary
to align in the app, so these changes would mostly
affect(break) any hand code referencing to the field names.

easiest way is to BACKUP the app, dct and export them both
to txa,txd format, make your changes there with good text
editor like textpad, ie: Name_P = NameP in both files, then
import to C55. This way you also catch the changes in your
embedded code.
