Can anyone here tell me a few advantages of using BarCode Generator
Machines over regular PC with some software that generates them!!!! Why
buy an expensive equipment when regular PCs can also generate
BarCodes!!!

We developed a bar code program and simply send control codes to a
designated barcode printer. It is really straightforward - I can
furnish more info if needed.

my question was WHY should one buy a separate machine for generating
BarCode when the same can be done with regular PC using some cheap
software? Why spend extra money?
I am online and would appreciate if you answered rightaway... thanx

The answer I would give is that there is no reason to buy an extra
machine - simply use the PC with cheap software. The actual barcode
printer may be different as, if you are doing a lot of labels, you
would be better off with a purpose built commercial grade barcode
printer. Hope this helps.

Hi.

As Milton says, you can use the PC.

But the barcode printers offers a lot of funtions to make readable barcodes
at all times.
Things like checkciffer, magnification, functioncode(EAN128) is things that
can destroy a barcode if messed up.
But what really makes the difference is the number of labels to print and
the environment.

Good luck
Jesper
