Understanding virtual/private bytes gap

Understanding virtual/private bytes gap

Hi,

I see a 200MB+ gap between "virtual bytes" and "private bytes".

What is this memory generally used for (shared dll's?)?

Is there a utility which helps me understand the gap?

DLLs, memory mapped files and regions that are reserved but not
committed.

Try !address command in latest windbg/cdb
( http://www.yqcomputer.com/ ).

Thanks, that worked.

Sometime someone added "#pragma comment(linker, "/stack:20971520")" which
gives *every* (15 in this case) thread a 20MB stack...
