How to get system time of IMsgStore(Exchange postbox)?

Post by Martin Gie » Fri, 11 Nov 2005 23:47:22

Hi NG,

Extended MAPI:
When I create a new appointment in Outlook in an exchange postbox
environment,
the PR_CREATION_TIME property(of the new appointment element) is always
filled with the
current system time of the computer with exchange server running. The system
time of the
client with Outlook running is not used.

How can I get the system time of the exchange server to create my own
creation_time property? I don't want to use the client system time to create
it, because it
is different to the server system time.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Martin

What exactly are you trying to do with that property? Even if you could get
the server time, it will be useless anyway because of the network latency.

Hi,

I want to compare the server time with an other.
The network latency doesn't matter for that comparsion.
I only check if the two dates are more than one minute different.
It doesn't have to be as exact as you think.

Do you know a solution?

Martin

Hi!

Thanks for the help!

I used PR_REPLICA_SERVER property of the inbox/receive folder to determine
the network name of the exchange server.
Then I used NetRemoteTOD() to get the time of the server.

Martin
