ODBC-Connection problem

Post by Pietjepara » Fri, 20 May 2005 04:23:04

Hi,

I've got a problem. I want to access a database in Delphi using a odbc
driver. So I've got an ADOquery and a DS a nice grid and a button to
set the connection. Code looks like this:

>ADOQuery1.ConnectionString:=
'DSN=ADSCPData;ServerName=192.168.0.3>.1583;ServerDSN=ADSCPData;UID=;PWD=;ArrayFetchOn=1;ArrayBufferSize>=8;TransportHint=TCP:SPX;DecimalSymbol=.;ClientVersion=8.50.189.00>0;CodePageConvert=1252;';

When I run it no problem, but as soon as I try to run this on another
pc, without delphi or bde it gives the following error:

"[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no
default driver specified"

Clould anyone tell what to do about this??

Grtz,

Peter

Have you created the DSN 'ADSCPData' on the computer in question?

Not a Delphi problem.

How about reading a little documentation. Go to msdn.microsoft.com in the
search field type in "create dsn" and click go. Lots of references. Take a
look at the one(s) that most closely match your requirements.

There must be a spelling error somewhere.
