I'm surprised no one has commented on this yet. At the link above, he
says you can do stuff like this:

use Tcl::Tk qw(:perlTk);
$mw = MainWindow->new;
$mw->Label(-text => "Hello world")->pack;
$btn = $mw->Button(-text => "test", -command => sub {
$btn->configure(-text=>"[". $btn->cget('-text')."]");
})->pack;
$edt = $mw->Text()->pack;
$edt->insert('end',"\x{2456}\x{2457}");
MainLoop;

Which is darn identical to the perltk syntax we all know and love. The
advantage here is that you get to use the latest Tcl and Tk releases and
are not at the mercy of Nick's sparse free time.

Has anyone tried this thing yet?

John.
