In article < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >,
XXXX@XXXXX.COM says...

I suppose you're searching for a windows prog. Have a look at the thread
I started on November 6th.

Basically, Outlook 2000 can do the job. Unfortunately, it's quite
unstable and often will abort the process. Maybe newer Outlook versions
are better.

If you find a suitable prog, could you reply in this newsgroup?

Regards
Gerhard

in comp.mail.imap i read:

pc-pine should be usable for this purpose. also, the uw-imap mail utility
program is also available for win32 systems, and should be useful component
tool (if not an entire solution, depending on desires).

if you use fetchmail and deliver to a standard local mailbox (i.e. via a
appropriate procmailscript and procmail as MDA) ? This should be easy to
setup and very relieable and can run automagically. (assuming you are
running linux - dont know if fetchmail/procmail exists on win)

Mailbox Backup via IMAP

Nope. I would like to access to a mailbox via imap and dump mailboxes
in a offline suitable format (oulook, eudora imporable). Something
such as .pst or mbox format. I think that it could be very useful for
generic mailboxes backup.

thanx a lot

As he said, both PC Pine and mailutil are suitable. They can write in
mbox format.
