postfix + cyrus (SuSE 9.0) - final problem

Post by Sean Clark » Tue, 06 Apr 2004 04:43:54

I have configured an my server and it now connects to my account at
regular intervals and downloads mail, I can "xxx\bin\deliver" email into a
users inbox, however I can't seem to get postfix to push the mail into the
inbox automatically. I suspect it is something to do with the lmtp
connection area, however I can't see a problem.

The error I get in the /var/log/mail folder is as follows :-

Apr 4 01:54:13 excaliber postfix/qmgr[5947]: DAF1A115583:
to=< XXXX@XXXXX.COM >, orig_to=<sclarke@localhost>, relay=none,
delay=1272, status=deferred (transport is unavailable)

Apr 4 01:55:12 excaliber postfix/qmgr[5947]: warning: connect to transport
mailbox: No such file or directory

Can anyone offer some advise on where to look?

Many thanks

postfix + cyrus (SuSE 9.0) - final problem

Sean Clarke a rit :

I got the same problem when I started with cyrus a couple of years ago.
The solution I found is to make cyrus and postfix use the same unix
socket for lmtp. I changed one line in the file cyrus.conf to read as

lmtpunix cmd="lmtpd" listen="/var/spool/postfix/public/lmtp" prefork=0

with this config configuration in postfix in /etc/postfix/

mailbox_transport = lmtp:unix:/var/spool/postfix/public/lmtp

Afterwards just restart both postfix and cyrus and postfix delivery to
cyrus should work fine.
