cyradm fails silently in RH-9.0

Hi folks!

I hoping someone can please help me. I'm having a bit of a problem
with Cyrus IMAP vers - 2.1.16 buiilt from source tarball and SASL
2.1.10 from RH rpm, Perl - 5.8 all running on RedHat 9.0.
Server works and you can connect to it. (Using saslauthd and PAM)

But when I try to use cyradm to set up boxes etc it just returns me to
the command prompt. No output of any kind. No errors in any logs. I've
seen other folks with the same problem but no solution yet. Running
cyradm with strace - produces several errors from Perl modules -
"Inappropriate ioctl for device"
Any body figured this one out yet? I would be most grateful for any
pointers info on the problem. The Cyrus docs claim you don't need to
use cyradm but if not how do you create maintain mailboxes etc?

Thanks alot for any help here.

Maybe you have an UTF-8 locale set on your Redhat 9. UTF-8 make lots of
trouble especially with perl. You could try:

LANG=C cyradm --user cyrus localhost
