I consider the author of the virus to have personally initiated each of the
thousands of these virus messages that I have received. The folks in the
middle who unknowingly (abet stupidly) propagated the virus share only a
little of the blame.

It couldn't have happened if the ISPs didn't make spamming so easy.

I'm not even an expert and I could get an account with a major ISP with a
false ID and use their SMTP servers to send millions of spams before they
shut that account down. There wouldn't be one thing in the headers that
would give away the source of that spam to any ordinary user.

And I'd still be on the free trial period!

If it weren't for these worms forcing people to get a clue,
and closing security holes in software, every Windows box
would probably be a spam node by now.

...many are anyway.

Get a clue people!

Yeah Art, I know gobbledegook.. ;o)

Thanks for wasting my time, troll. It won't happen again for at least
60 days.

Due to the (presumed) fact that most won't change their poor excuse for an
OS, I'd say ... approaching zero.

Don't be blinded by your prejudice. I am not saying that worms
are good, only that (as it is with most things) they are a mixture.
If we didn't have replicative malware, we would only have non-
replicative malware which would operate well under the radar.
It is relatively easy to catch and analyze a worm to see what
exploit it uses, but a bomb placed on a system or systems via
the same exploit could well leave no clue as to the vulnerability
it exploited.

Make it forever, it's your killfile ~ think I care?

I could say: what makes you think I was referring to the ostensible posters

the ostensible posters, which was naive of me.
