i have mutt installed working great for reciving emails but sending does
not work
i know i have sendmail and fetchmail on my system
so am i missing something?

i did a
# telnet localhost 25

gives me
connect to address 127.0.0.1: Connection refused

where do i go from here?

any help or link and i am a newbie still a lot to learn

I'd say it's time to configure Sendmail. What are you running it on?
Linux? What kind? Redhat? What version?

Are you behind a firewall? As root, enter "iptables -L"; is it
possible sendmail's port is blocked?

We need a lot more information than you've given us if we're to give
you any useful help.

thanks for your reply
i went to sleep on this and did another email test and it worked
and i haven't done anything else to it
i am thinking its an isp issue but when boot into windows it worked on
outlook occasionaly
may be it was bad luck as i was in linux server down then just hapeen to
work when booted into windows

i am using fedora core 1
