I often get messages where the width of From: field in overview,
simply is not enough. Example:

127 r Jun 08 eBay Member: 1t ( 258) Message from eBay Member Regarding Item #************

So, I would like to increase width of that From: field. How can I do
it?

The format of that line is controlled by the 'index_format' variable.
The default value is

"%4C %Z %{%b %d} %-15.15L (%4l) %s"

where the sender's name appears in the 15-column L field. So to
increase the width of that field, simply change the two 15s to larger
numbers, e.g., by putting a line like this in your muttrc:

set index_format="%4C %Z %{%b %d} %-19.19L (%4l) %s"

You can find out more about formatting that line by opening the mutt
manual (e.g., by pressing F1) and searching for "index_format".
