You can't load Windows 9x without HIMEM.SYS, through the real-mode phase of
boot ONLY. Once VMM32.VXD switches the CPU into 32-bit Protected-Mode,
HIMEM.SYS is no longer a TSR BIOS call.

Sorry...u lose again.

ROFL - sorta like saying that you don't need the battery to run your
automobile. You only need the battery to start the car!

Unless, of course, you're at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway where the
race cars don't have batteries because they slap a pneumatic starter on
the engine to turn it over.

Aren't semantic arguements fun? Everybody wins!!!!

John ;-)

i can run my lawnmower without a battery.. and i think the old fords
from almost 100 years ago could be started by turning a crank in fornt
of the car

John please. Being a programmer I can't for a minute think your so
incompetent. You know all OS's for the IBM/INTEL platform must start in
real-mode. IO.SYS, MSDOS.SYS and HIMEM.SYS are simply real-mode loaders. But
you know this....I HOPE!
