how can I turn off minix.?

hi~ I've seen some articles about my question.

But I couldn't find it out.

When I shutdown minix on my vmware, they say

"The system will shutdown NOW

Sending SIGTERM to all processes ...
d0p0s0>_"

so, I thought i need to input some words.

but it doesn't work. It was freeze.

I couldn't type any characters.

how can i solve this problem?

Shutting down a nixy os takes a few seconds for there is much
housekeeping to be done. The prompt returns because the shell has
completed the last thing it needed to do, the kernel however should be
doing its business. If you leave the machine alone after the SIGTERM
message comes it should eventually shutdown, at least you should have a
dead machine. If Minix doesn't like your machine's ACPI implementation
it may not power off however. But when you see the system has become
unresponsive you may then power off manually if necessary.

When you see a prompt like "d0p0s0>_", it means you are in the "boot
monitor", the Minix bootstrapper. The boot monitor is a very simple
program capable which does not keep any volatile information (unlike Minix
itself). So, if your system is dead in the boot monitor, you can at least
safely power off.

If you want to shut down the computer while logged into Minix, you can
also issue the command "shutdown -x 'off'". This will pass the command
"off" (which shuts down your PC) to the boot monitor.

I hope that qemu (free PC emulator) and 'off' command in Minix3 boot
loader will help to you.
