I have the following setup:
- A brand new SBS 2003 installation connected to my local network.
- A router/firewall that acts as gateway to the internet.
I have configured the router such that incoming traffic on port 443
(https://...) is routed to the SBS. However, the default setup for the
SBS is that it rejects traffic coming from the gateway so trying to
e.g. read mail from outside the premises is a no-go (and yes, it works
on the LAN).
What are the security aspects of un-blocking incoming traffic from the
router on the SBS?
