REXX and JPEG Exif some Problems

REXX and JPEG Exif some Problems

Post by Andreas Le » Sat, 08 Oct 2005 02:58:18

Hello OS/2-Fans

i have a little problem to extract informations from my JPEG-Files.
RXExif terminates with a SYS3175 at some pictures:

RXEXIF.DLL 0002:00004a03

I think, there are new tags inside the files and RXExif has a little
problem with it. In the past, I notice, that unknown Exif-tags
terminates the process in that DLL.

My question: Is there a tool, beyond RXExif, which I can use in REXX
to extract the Exif-data i want, without termination? :-)

thank you

REXX and JPEG Exif some Problems

Hello Andreas,

[...]
Armin Schwarz from Lone Peak Automation is usually very responsive and
fixes issues with his .DLLs quite fast in case you provide an example pic...

A contact email address can be found in rxexif.inf
I am not aware of one.

Best regards,
Herwig

REXX and JPEG Exif some Problems

Hi Andreas

There is a package called renamepics that can be used to rename pics
from the usually not very friendly camera filename to a filename based
on Date:Time information contained in the exif data.

It also can copy some, maybe not all, of the exif data to the image
file's Properties, File tab page 3/3 Comments section.

I have used renamepics reasonably successfully with a little app I wrote
a while back "Nicki's USBCamera-To-HardDisk-Thingy V0.3" - on hobbes as
ncthdt_v03.zip

If it sounds like it may be useful you should find it here
