old rexx and object rexx how?

old rexx and object rexx how?

Post by bicidocXXX » Tue, 22 Jun 2004 07:06:28

Is there any way to set some programs to run under interpreted object rexx (
the one including in warp 4) and the old version of rexx?

For example I run diskjockey file manager that uses old rexx and also run
TarGzipPm that uses object rexx.

At the present I run SWITCHRX.CMD and reboot to go from one to the other. Any
tip?

TIA

If Classic REXX is the default, you can run OREXX on demand. IIRC,
there's a script to do the setup on Hobbes.

Basically what you do is copy the OREXX DLLs to a alternate directory and
then use BEGINLIBPATH to ensure the OREXX DLLs are found before the the
CREXX DLLs.

There are some restrictions with this method, but it can work.
